Reflections on Liturgy

By Fr. Placid Podipara, C.M.I.

Placid Achan's reflections on the liturgy with particular reference to the ancient liturgy of the St. Thomas Christians. Liturgy is the sublime expression of the life of the Church. This ancient liturgy which is deeply rooted in the Bible and the earliest traditions of the Church is indeed a great treasure of the Catholic Church. The apostolic heritage and divine traditions are enshrined in the different liturgical traditions. Hence the liturgy should be a real source of spiritual inspiration and ecclesial experience. The St. Thomas Christians of India can have legitimate pride in having a liturgy which is the unique heritage of all the Churches which have the same apostle St. Thomas as their common Father.
