Particular Laws of the Syro Malabar Church
The Eastern Catholic Churches are governed by the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches (CCEO) in the establishment and administration of their ecclesial life. The CCEO also calls upon the hierarchs of the sui iuris Churches to promulgate particular laws that faithfully reflect the distinctive traditions, customs, and ecclesial heritage of their respective Churches. The Syro-Malabar Particular Laws of 2003 were promulgated in this spirit, providing norms that apply the universal provisions of the CCEO in a manner faithful to the authentic traditions and identity of the Syro-Malabar Church.
